The Universe

The Daily Beast alerted me yet again to the beauty of the universe. These images were taken by the soon-to-be decommissioned Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 on board the Hubble Space Telescope. I think the images are epicly beautiful and speak for themselves. Wow.

Housing Crisis

These are two amazing photos of home design inspiration from constantly amazing website The Selby. Check out the mystical crystal mantel and the gorgeous plants in the balcony forest from Jonathan and Annie Zawada, Sydney based art directors. The rest of their place is rad, but for me, these two parts are pretty fantastic. Also while checking out The Selby, look at Natalie Wood's place... swoon swoon swoon... between The Selby, Sartorialist and Garance Dore, Australia is starting to call my name with it's creativity and natural beauty + the people don't look half bad... it's so colorful, unlike us.

Sandal Mania

I recently received a somehwat confusing email about this line of shoes that was starting up, but not yet available with a link to the website. The shoes, by a line called Marais, were very simple and chic and kind of what I think most girls are looking for these days. The amazing thing is the prices! They are under $100.00!?!?!? So then today I get an email that now the shoes are up and available for sale, and the website features little videos and snap shots of the designers and models playing in the park. It's all very cute.... just way too cute!

Also the tone of the descriptions seem really honest, like they're your old pal just telling you how it is "We strongly recommend breaking in your patent styles with socks or tights for the first couple of days...I wore my Mulberry Maryjanes with socks the first two times and I never got a blister any time after. As with any other suede shoes, avoid wearing them in the rain. "

Thanks Ladies, BFF!!

They're gonna do a pop up shop May 22nd. Be there or be looking for sandals all summer.....

Anita Pallenberg

Some days, I want to be Anita Pallenberg, long time paramour of Keith Richards, expert in the occult and black magic, 60's rock goddes and most stylish woman in the world who Kate Moss steals from constantly and with mad love. I mean, look at her hair! Her life was glamorous and grimy, live fast and only think about the moment. There was the requisite very nasty drug addiction, which I could do without of course. I love the way Anita lived and how she traveled in so much fur. Have you seen Performance? Anita + a young Mick Jagger in his most beautiful youth-that boy, always a looker. It's INSANE. You should see it. Take a peek and enjoy this rainy day dream with me.

LSD is the New Black

Liberty print is everywhere right now. I have always loved the simplicity of the little floral pattern for the nostalgia it evokes in me for calico dresses and my dreams of life like Laura in Little House on the Prairie. But I was too young to really understand the roots of this nature loving motif. Liberty Print was popularized by Liberty and Co. back in the 60’s then made ultra cool by groovy hippies. The revival has it reworked by APC and Nike among others.

I just happen to be reading the “The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test” and getting completely smitten by the hippies throw convention to the wind kinda mentality. We’ve all gotten a little stiff and predictable and I think a full acid head revolution may be in store for the near future. Just read the description for the Liberty inspired collection on the A.P.C website and it makes you yearn to be a part of the experience. Gus Van Sant is making the book into a movie slated for sometime this year. I think the times they are a changing, like a feather to the wind, Alice in Wonderland and the whole bit. Lets all trip balls!*

*I’ll be the “safe person” or whatever they call that person at Acid parties

Um, Hello...

Friends and lovers, sorry for the lack of blogging. We've been real busy, let me catch you up to speed with what's been going on in my blogosphere...

1. An Choi-- Their Pho and Banh Mi Sandwiches have been occupying 95% of my daydreams these days. They serve their delish pho with a fresh plate of herbs. It feels like coating your rotting insides with aloe vera salve. A-May-Zing.

2. Coachella-- It was pretty awesome, I took some photos there. You can see them here, here and here. Working on something pretty special, I promise, you'll be the first to know.

3. The new Phoenix album-- it's pretty cool.

4. Self-Help Corner-- As Nimble Fingers mentioned, T//T has been going through an existential crisis profound in nature, luckily there is always hope. Mama Gena's School of the Womanly Arts has been guiding me through this dark and dreary time, by teaching me about pleasure and seduction. As a result, I want to throw away every other self help book I've ever read. Go onto amazon and order yourself a few of these books, cause you can't borrow mine.

5. It's finally spring, so that means a rebirth and rejuvenation. That's true for this blog as well, so sit back and enjoy. If you have anything you need to tell us, send it over via Twitter. Okay fools?

xoxo

Discounts

I learned the most amazing thing yesterday

When you want to buy something online
google "x" discounts and there will be tons of sites that pop up with promo codes

i.e. I ordered some shoes from urban outfitters today and then I googled urban outfitters discounts and I found a promo code that gave me 15% off. With a little determination, you can find a promo code for almost anything that you buy from the internets.

Amazing!
